CBMPC Rep Attends GAD Committee Triple Treat Seminar

The CBMPC Gender and Development Committee (GAD) Member, Sonia Cruz attended the two-day GAD Committee Triple Treat Seminar along with the other representatives of the PFCCO-NCR coop members.

This seminar held at Great Eastern Hotel in Quezon City on May 7 & 8, 2025, discussed among others: the Key Concepts of GAD, Participation and Empowerment History of GAD in the Philippines (from Spanish Colonial Period to Contemporary Period), Importance of GAD Goals in the Philippines, GAD Manifestation of Gender Issues in the Philippines and Gender Fair Language. The participants were also briefed on the importance of the CDA Memorandum Circular (MC) 2017- 04 re: Tools for Assessing Gender Equality in the Cooperatives as supplement to MC 2013-22. Highlight of this event was the sharing of success stories on their GAD Initiatives by the Soroptimist Women’s Cooperative (Davao City), Bangko Kabayan (a Cooperative Bank in Batangas), Nagkakaisang Kababaihan ng Barangay Camaysa Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Ilocos Sur) and LAMAC Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Cebu).
