CBMPC Brings Christmas Cheers to Street Dwellers, Orphans and Poor Families
For many Filipinos, the Holiday Season is a time of giving and helping those who are less fortunate. Under CDA MC No. 2021-01 re: Revised Policy Guidelines Governing the Allocation and Utilization of the Community Development Fund of Cooperatives, a cooperative should provide yearly assistance to its members and broader community. In line with this and as approved by the Board, the CBMPC management and staff organized three Outreach Programs in December 2024 that cheered up street dwellers, orphans and poor families during the Christmas season.
The coop’s first Outreach Program was at Sta. Maria Goretti Parish held on December 16, 2024. As in the previous years, the CBMPC Management coordinated with the social workers of the parish for the preparation of foods for 200 street dwellers. This annual event started with a Thanksgiving Mass at the parish officiated by Fr. Jason Laguerta. It was attended by the street dwellers, missionaries from Spain, Africa and Vietnam and CBMPC management. After the mass, the coop distributed food packs and hygiene kit to street dwellers.

At 9:00 a.m. of December 23, 2024, the coop visited the Asilo de San Vicente de Paul (ASVP) as its 2nd Outreach Program. The Asilo is an orphanage that aims at uplifting the lifestyle of the poor children by empowering the youth and educating the poor girls. The program started with the opening message of ASVP’s Sister Rio Dublin followed by the opening prayer of the Asilo’s orphans. CBMPC distributed the Chowking food packs and hygiene kit to the children. Afterwards, the children enjoyed the games facilitated by one of the orphans and CBMPC staff.
A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to CBMPC for bringing cheers to the children of ASVP.

Later that day, the CBMPC Management and Staff trooped to the last outreach activity at Brgy. 6640-A and distributed four kilos of rice each to 200 families of the barangay with the assistance of other barangay officials.
