Ratooning H2O Cabbage (Kangkong)

Materials:

  1. Remaining stems of kangkong bought for cooking
  2. Plastic container
  3. Composts soil
  4. Rice washing

Procedure:

  1. Bore 3 small holes at the bottom of the container
  2. Fill the container with composts soil up to 2 inches below the upper rim
  3. Plant 3 kangkong stems at the middle about 3 inches deep (1 bundle if kangkong has 4-5 stems)
  4. Pour rice washing just enough to level down the soil
  5. Place the potted plants on an elevated space exposed to sunlight
  6. Water daily with rice washing just enough to moisten the soil
  7. Harvesting can be done once the kangkong tops are about 6 inches long

Benefits:

  1. Minimize bio-degradable wastes
  2. Recycle empty plastic containers
  3. Conserve nutritional value of kangkong
  4. Utilize composts soil taken from decomposed kitchen scraps & dried leaves
  5. Additional greening of outdoor
