Coop Representatives Attend General Assemblies of the NCMF and FPSDC
On May 19, 2023, the National Cooperative Marketing Foundation (NCMF) held its 13th Annual Regular General Assembly (GA) at The Manila Hotel, Ermita, Manila. The CBMPC Board appointed Ms. Estrellita Dimaculangan of our Ethics Committee as Authorized Voting Representative and Ms. Sonia Cruz of the Gender and Development Committee as Accompanying Representative.
On August 3, 2022, CBMPC applied for membership in NCMF. During the GA, it was awarded with Certificate of Membership, together with 19 other new member cooperatives. It was also among the recipients of a Certificate for Gawad Kaakbay Unlad sa Kabuhayan. Both certificates were received by Ms. Dimaculangan.
The Financial Highlights presented by NCMF showed Total Assets of P119M, Share Capital of P35M, Sales of P153M and Net Income of P6M.
The Proposed Amendments on the Articles of Cooperation & By-Laws and the Proposed Amendments on Election Guidelines of NCMF were presented and ratified during the Assembly.
It was also announced that as recommended by the Cooperative Development Authority, memberships of the following in the NCMF had been terminated: Federation of Cooperatives of Workers Organization, Federation of Free Farmers Cooperative, National Confederation of Cooperatives and National Market Vendors Confederation of Cooperatives.
The following were elected to the Board of Directors: Raul Montemayor, Mindoro Occidental Farmers Coop; Raycel May Notario, Barangka Credit Coop; Alma Ferreros, San Dionisio Credit Coop; and Ma. Theresa Pacatang, Most Holy Rosary MPC. The elected members to the Audit Committee are: Rommel Rivera, IBC 13 Broadcast Workers Coop; Yolanda del Castillo, Concepcion Vendors Dev. Coop; and Jayson Acosta, Holy Spirit Community MPC.
Moreover, on June 8, 2023, Director Lamelita Aquino attended the oath taking as one of the members of the NCMF Business Development Committee which is chaired by Fr. Anton Pascual.
Earlier on April 26, 2023, the Federation of Peoples’ Sustainable Development Cooperative (FPSDC) held its 27th Annual Regular General Assembly via Zoom, with a venue based at the Citadines Hotel, Pasay City. Ms. Rosalina DLP. Magat, Chairperson of the Gender and Development Committee was appointed as official representative of CBMPC to the said GA.
Memberships in these federations give CBMPC the advantages of wider circle of contacts and opportunities and of shared expertise and knowledge, aside from being entitled to share capital and patronage refund.
