PCC Organizes GAD Training and Workshop on Gender Analysis
The Philippine Cooperatives Center (PCC) organized a Gender and Development (GAD) Training and Workshop on Gender Analysis via zoom on May 31 and June 13, 2024. This seminar intended for PCC member federations and primary cooperatives was conducted by the Gender Equality Resource Center, Inc. (GERC). CBMPC’s participants were Director Lamelita Aquino and GAD Committee Member Sonia Cruz.
Various topics were discussed during the 2-day seminar aimed at achieving the following objectives for the attendees:
- To be updated on CDA Memorandum Circulars on GAD mainstreaming in cooperatives;
- To be familiar with gender analysis and relate how the concepts and process can be used to examine cooperative policies/ programs/projects and activities and enabling mechanisms for GAD mainstreaming in cooperatives;
- To be capable to use the GAD Assessment Tool for Coops (MC 2017-04) and analyze the results to prepare the GAD mainstreaming plan for the cooperatives; and
- To be able to identify intervention actions by the federation for other member cooperatives.
Some cooperatives and federations presented their home outputs during Day 2, consisting of accomplished GAD Assessment Tool for year 2023 and a GAD Plan for June to December 2024. These were reviewed, assessed, analyzed level by level by the trainors, resource speakers as well as the participants. What used to be manually accomplished is now web-based using the Excel program.
