AgriCOOPh Hosts Lakbay Aral in Cebu

CBMPC Chair Rogelio Decal together with Ms. Marian Tamayo, Membership, Education and Training Committee member and Ms. Melody de Guzman, Business Development and Investment Committee member joined the Lakbay Aral hosted by the Philippine Family Farmers Agriculture Fishery Forestry Cooperatives Federation (AgriCOOPh) on June 13-15, 2024 in Cebu. Visited were the facilities and market outlets of the following member-coops of AgriCOOPh:

1. Koop Farm Factory – market outlet of various products of a consortium of seven primary coops engaged in hog raising and production of vegetable, rice and other high- value crops, some are organically grown.
2. Koop Meat Factory – a meat shop being supplied primarily by hog raising members of the consortium, the biggest supplier of which is being managed by Cordova Catholic School Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC).
3. One Town One Product (OTOP) – where the various products of Region 7 are displayed in a mall; being managed by Lamac MPC.
4. Consolidation and Processing Facility – Lamac MPC manages this and owns the building where the facility is located.
5. PESTALES (People’s Ecosystem Societal Transformation Advanced Leadership Ecnomic Sustainability) Cooperative in Argao, Cebu. It was organized by young farmer entrepreneurs. It is engaged in 100% organic farming and processing in a six-

Meeting was held with AgriCOOPh Chair and former Congressman Cresente Paez. Potential partnerships were discussed such as the offer of 6% interest rate for P500,000 investment, share in the income of the projects where other group of investors have put in their funds and Purchase Order financing where it offers share in the contracts with government agencies. Likewise, the participants met with General Manager Glen Tajanlangit of Cordova Catholic School MPC to discuss their on-going activities as regards supplying of meat, buy and sell of real estate and as a major stockholder of a shipping facility.
